The BEST VALUE in MIDDLE PLANTATION ... READ ON...........

We had been anticipating the party for weeks now, an outdoor barbeque in Middle Plantation. As we drove north on Little Neck Road, the summer temperatures seemed to drop a few degrees….as did our blood pressure….it must be the calming influence of the quiet, private peninsula, I thought.

As we turned down Stapleford Chase heading to Royal Oak Close, we talked about all the good times we had had in this great community, all the friends we had met and made. We were really looking forward to seeing the great home at 932 Royal Oak.

Parking under the shady oaks out front, we walk up the sideway to the front door of this Classic Cape Cod. The foyer welcomes us warmly. To the right we see the stylishly decorated living room with its plantation shutters and hardwood floors. The dining room is to the left with shutters and oak floors, the table loaded with an eye popping array of gourmet delights.

Straight ahead we walk into the family room – more plantation shutters and hardwood – and are greeted by our hosts and a bevy of friends. The gas fireplace, while not lit, is ready for the crisp fall evenings soon to come. We stroll into the kitchen, its updated countertops gleaming, and the concise center island a hub of party activity. We make a beeline directly to the kitchen’s most popular feature, a built-in beer tap, and fill our pilsner glasses to the brim………

Looking over the counter into the bright sun room we see more friends and walk around to meet them. The sunlight angles through the windows and skylights. The outside deck is full of activity and the grill is smoking!

Wanting to check our hosts’ recent decorating activity, we sneak up to the master suite over the garage and are envious of the large spa area with a jetted tub, a step in glass enclosed shower, and a deep walk in closet. A perfect getaway, I think.

We head back to the party on the first floor, refill our glasses, and then run up the foyer staircase, again to see the new décor. To the left is a second master suite, its bath recently updated. The third and fourth bedrooms are on the other side of the updated hall bath. All three of these bedrooms are comfortably sized and nicely decorated. “What an ideal floor plan,” I think out loud.

Rejoining the celebratory activities throughout the first floor, we reengage with our new and old friends. In the recesses of my mind, I keep asking myself, “Why didn’t we buy this house when Claudia had it on the market? Such a great home. Such a great neighborhood.”
